Audrey and Cristie with Ronald McDonald

Every year The JAR Group makes a commitment to give back, through charity work, to the local community. In keeping with that mission, the team from the New Jersey JAR office visited the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington, DE last week to make a variety of baked goods for the families staying at the facility. The morning started out with a tour and introductions to the volunteer staff. Then the baking began. In all we made 11 dozen cookies, 2 batches of chocolate fudge and 1 batch of rice crispy treats!  We had a great time bonding as a team outside the office, while also providing a very welcome service to the families and staff at the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware is part of a global charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities. The roots of this global charity are based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation, creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. Through its global network of local Chapters in 52 countries and regions, its three core programs, the Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room® and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, and millions of dollars in grants to support children’s programs worldwide, RMHC provides stability and resources to families so they can get and keep their children healthy and happy. All RMHC-supported programs provide a bridge to quality health care and give children and families the time they need together to heal faster and cope better. Currently there are 300 Ronald McDonald House programs in 30 countries and regions. All told, more than 7200 bedrooms are available for families every night around the world. All Houses have the same basic mission, but vary in size, facility and services. All are sustained through local donations and each House is independently owned and operated.
