A.J. is the President of The JAR Group.
AJ founded the JAR Group in 2006 with the mission of creating an interactive agency to provide a deeper level of thought, strategy, and service to clients without “big agency everything else.” He is experienced in developing and leading multichannel marketing engagements. He is inexperienced in french braiding his daughters’ hair, but learning.
The JAR Group was named one of INC. 500’s list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies and Linkshare’s 2010 Agency of the Year. A.J. has managed, developed, and marketed major corporate digital brands from GE, Citibank, Cable & Wireless, Fairmont Luxury Hotels, Marvel Entertainment, and MTV, amongst many others.
Q&A:
What was your First Job?
Life guarding in West Neck Beach, Long Island. I loved watching the daily flow of people coming to and from the beach. I was able to see how the beach evolved and changed from sunrise to sunset. Having the patience to watch everything happen on the beach is a lot like a day at JAR; Learning to gain perspective. Also, having a good tan makes life pretty fun.
How would you describe your role at JAR to your grandmother?
I spend my time trying to convince and help others to do the work they need to make our clients happy so our family could attend church on Sundays.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
“Get back up.” (After getting hit in the face by a kid in the 5th grade and eventually injuring his hand.)
